Annual General Assembly.

The Annual General Assembly of the Federation took place in the Sheraton Hotel, Place Rogier, Brussels on the 26th May. A plan for the future of the Federation was presented by the President Terry Mangan and adopted by a unanimous vote. The plan outlined the future ambitions of the Federation in the areas of membership growth, finance, and support for National Associations and for all European Heart and Lung Transplant recipients. Also presented was a mission statement and core values which reflected the vision and integrity of the Federation and these were also adopted unanimously. In accordance with Federation rules David Walker, Secretary, having served three years on the Managing Committee (MC) was obliged to stand down. David had indicated his intention of standing for re-election and in the absence of any other nominees was re-elected to the MC for a further period of three years. David will continue as Secretary of the Federation. During this meeting Pelle Christiansen, Denmark, a member of the MC was announced as Assistant Treasurer to Ilkka Vass. The meeting was also informed of the winning presentation to host the 2010 EHLT Games. Raymonde Charlot on behalf of the French Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the 2008 EHLT Games in Vichy, reported on the progress and planning for these Games.
